Melasma is a skin condition brought about by the overproduction of melanin which are cells responsible for giving skin color. This over production is caused by many things including hormones, genetics and overexposure to UV rays.
Melasma is common with people who naturally have a darker or Asian-complexion and this appears in the form of freckles. While not physically painful, melasma can make the skin look older and unsightly in some cases especially if widespread.

Upkeep is consisted of simple steps such as using SPF 45+ on a daily basis, rain or shine, prior to leaving the house, and using a Vitamin C or Hydroquinone serum on a daily basis, based on the severity of pigmentation treated. These simple steps will ensure the *long lasting results possible, as at home maintenance is as important as the in-clinic treatment.
